Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-6) on Saturday seized 495 grams of gold jewelry from Nastipur bridge area of Chuadanga district. Acting on a tip-off, BGB teams came to know that a consignment of gold is being smuggled to Bangladesh from
Indian border.
Chuadanga BGB battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Khalekuzzaman led a team of BGB personnel to conduct
a drive.
During the drive, BGB personnel on Saturday morning recovered a sack of jewelry. No person was found during the drive.
A total of 42.88 ounce of golden jewelry was seized from the area. BGB officials said that a case is being filed and the jewelry is being transported to the treasurer office in the district.
