Chuadanga bakes as temperature reaches record 42.7 degrees Celsius

An unyielding heatwave has been continued for more than a couple of weeks in Chuadanga. People of the district and its adjacent areas have been facing immense sufferings due to the excessive heat.

Pedestrians were seen taking shelter under big trees to get rid of the heat.

The highest temperature in the country was recorded at 42.7 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga on Friday.

Acting officer-in-charge of Chuadanga weather office Jaminur Rahman confirmed the matter to the media.

According to Chuadanga weather office, an extreme heatwave has been prevailing in the district since Thursday. This situation may continue for next three days.

The intense heat has depleted water levels, leaving many villages parched and unable to irrigate fields. The farmers of the area are fearing that the ongoing heatwave may hamper the harvesting of their crops.

The extreme heat has put the working people in great trouble.

The temperature has risen to two to four degrees Celsius in the district in last three days.

Earlier, the people of Chuadanga district were asked to stay under shade and drink much water to resist the heat.
