The nomination paper for the BNP-nominated “Dhaner Shish” candidate, BGMIEA and district BNP president Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu, has been collected for the Chuadanga-2 constituency. Today, Thursday, 18 December, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the Returning Officer handed over the nomination papers to Anwar Hossain Khan, President of Jibannagar Upazila BNP.
At the event, district BNP Organising Secretary Khalid Mahmud Milton, Damurhuda Upazila BNP President Moniruzzaman, General Secretary Rafiqul Hasan Tanu, Darshana Thana BNP President Khaja Abul Hasnat, Darshana Municipality BNP Coordinator Habibur Rahman Bullet, and former Chairman of the Simanto Union Parishad Shahjahan Ali, along with other party leaders, were present.
Darshana BNP President Khaja Abul Hasnat stated that the nomination papers were collected on behalf of District BNP President and Chuadanga-2 candidate Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu, and expressed optimism that they would win in the election on 12 February. He also sought everyone’s prayers and support.
According to sources at the Returning Officer’s office, of the two parliamentary constituencies in Chuadanga, only the BNP-nominated candidate has so far registered to collect a nomination form.
Additional District Election Officer Moshiur Rahman said that, as of Thursday, only one candidate had collected a nomination form for Chuadanga-2. He added that other candidates could still collect the forms within the stipulated time.
