Newly appointed chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) Supradip Chakma paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Thursday (August 3).
Supradip Chakma paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait in Dhanmondi-32 in the capital and at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
After laying the wreaths, the new CHT Development Board chairman stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
At Tungipara, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.
A special prayer was also offered seeking longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.
Supradip Chakma’s wife Miz Nandita Chakma, Chittagong Hill Development Board’s vice-chairman (additional secretary) Mohammad Nurul Alam Chowdhury, Chittagong Hill Development Board’s member (implementation) Md Harun Or Rashid, member (planning) Md Jasim Uddin, Chittagong Hill Development Board’s Khagrachhari unit Executive Engineer Md. Mujibul Alam, Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board’s deputy director Mangchenlain Rakhine, Rangamati unit Executive Engineer Tushit Chakma, Gopalganj District Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Jobair Ahmed, Tungipara UNO Md. Al Mamun and other government officials, among others, were present in Tungipara.
