The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment will provide education scholarships to the children of expatriate workers who have passed SSC or equivalent examination in 2020.
This has been informed through a notification recently.
The children of those who have travelled abroad with clearance from the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) or who have become members of the Wage Earners Welfare Board (WEEB) through embassies or high commissions working abroad can apply for the scholarship till 30th June, next month.
Later, the students nominated for the scholarship will get the scholarship at the determined rate.

In addition, to apply directly, one can collect the free application form from the website of the board, which is to be sent to WEWB, 8th floor, Probashi Kallyan Bhaban, 71-72 Old Elephant Road, Eskaton Garden, Ramna, Dhaka-1000 by letter.
At the time of application, photocopy of the passport, visa, pass with the exit clearance / manpower clearance of BMET or membership of Wage Earners Welfare Board through Bangladesh Mission abroad of the expatiate should be submitted.
In addition, the applicant has been asked to submit 2 passport size photos and photocopy of the original mark sheet of SSC / equivalent examination, attested by the head of the respective educational institution. In the case of children of late expatriate workers, No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by Bangladesh Mission abroad has to be issued. However, no need to submit these documents in the initial way if one applies online.
Scholarships for SSC / equivalent category will be given to students studying up to class XI and XII for 2 years and for those studying in diploma for 4 years, at the rate of Tk 2,000 per month. In addition, the scholarship will be accompanied by an annual one-time book and educational materials and other ancillary expenses of Tk 3,500.
