Child friendly budget allocation holds a significant value for the country as the children are our future. A country can only shine and have a good future prospect if the government wants to enhance the human development targets. This can only be accomplished if the focus is on the target population, the children.

Our country has over 66 million children which means in the future Bangladesh has the prospect of blooming with a huge number of working class population, which will propel us towards a developed nation. Therefore, to nurture this core group of children and for their advancement we need child friendly budgets.

This government with great foresight is now focusing on that. Budget allocation in child centric activities has shot up to 2.78 percent in FY 20 from 2.59 percent in FY 19. This stat definitely shows the government's good intention and motive towards child centric allocation.

However, increasing the budget will not do any good if implementation is not there. We saw that in the past, the rate of implementation of child centered projects was slower in comparison to other government projects.

Budget implementation should be on children’s health, nutrition, education, shelter etc. There should be assistance in reducing poverty and encouraging women empowerment. Officials should also provide assistance to family members and other caregivers to take better care of

children. Disabled, orphan and street children should also be given priority. All in all, if we want our children to be eligible citizens in the foreseeable future, investment and proper education is a must.
