Chhatku Ahmed, a veteran screenwriter, director, producer and vice-president of the Film Directors Association has recovered from Covid-19. The 74-year-old has returned home from hospital after winning against coronavirus.
On Friday (August 28), Chhotku Ahmed’s corona test report came back negative. He returned home from the hospital on Sunday night (August 30). Chhotku Ahmed said that he did not have any major problem from the beginning. He added, “Sometimes a little physical weakness was created. My corona report came negative and I am healthy now. So the doctor allowed him to return home. I am asking for blessings from everyone so that I can stay healthy in the coming days.”
Earlier, Chhotku Ahmed was admitted to the United Hospital in the capital on August 16 after contracting the global epidemic creating coronavirus. At that time he had no symptoms other than fever.
Chhotku Ahmed started his career with small screen. In 1962, he directed his first drama on Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Dakghar’. He made his big screen debut as an assistant director in the 1972 film ‘Titas Ekti Nodir Nam’, directed by Ritwik Ghatak. His first solo film ‘Natbou’ was released in 1982.
In his long career, Chhotku Ahmed has written more than three hundred movie stories, screenplays and dialogues. Among them, ‘Satya Mithya’, ‘Banglar Bodhu’, ‘Lalu Mastan’, ‘Pita Mata Sontan’, ‘Ghatak’ and ‘Chetona’ have won National Film Awards.
A few days ago, after the identification of Covid-19, Chhotku Ahmed announced to make a movie about the adverse events that took place in the life of the patient. Besides writing the screenplay, he also said that he will direct the movie himself.
