Chhatra Dal plans to unleash terror across country

Tarique directs them from London

The latest recovery of firearms and ammunition from Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has revealed that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is now desperate to unleash a reign of terror across the country as per the directive of party’s convicted acting chairman Tarique Rahman currently absconding in London.

Staying in London Tarique Rahman reportedly has directed the party leaders and workers and the JCD, the student wing of BNP to create unrest on campus and elsewhere in the country ahead of the next general elections.

The party high command also asked them to collect firearms and ammunition, engaging themselves in hooliganism to create panic among people ahead of the next polls, according to an intelligence report.

The party has now become desperate to see bloodshed on the country’s university campuses, especially at Dhaka University at any cost. They are now doing everything to create unrest in the country centering the universities with a target to oust the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Therefore, they are making ill attempts to make the campuses unstable by using their student wings.

Leaders and workers of JCD are now collecting weapons to sabotage the next general election instead of studying and doing fair politics.

So, it is feared that a plot is being hatched to make the university campuses unstable in order to destabilise the country.

It is also being noticed that while the preparation is going to hold the next general election, some elements led by BNP-Jamaat clique are desperate to create unrest in the country centering the universities with a target to oust the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The students’ main duty is to love the country and its people.

So, they will have to prepare themselves with proper education to become leaders of a smart, developed, prosperous Bangladesh.

A special squad of plainclothesmen arrested six leaders of JCD from Dhaka’s Lalbagh area on Saturday and recovered 3 illegal firearms and 36 bullets from them, according to a media report.

BNP and Chhatra Dal high commands directed the Dhaka University Chhatra Dal unit and other university units “to topple the current government by inciting fear and panic among the public.”

During the preliminary interrogation, the arrestees said the high command of the BNP and its student wing’s units at Dhaka University and other private universities were planning to strengthen the party’s movement.

They were planning to display the illegal firearms and create panic among the public in order to destabilise the country.

Since 2009, armed hooliganism, terrorism and violence on the university campus have been controlled with an iron hand.

So, there is no jingle of weapons on the university campus now as Awami League is in power.

All universities are now running their academic activities smoothly except for some stray incidents.

But, there were jingles of weapons in universities once upon a time.

A peaceful environment is prevailing on the university campuses.

Authorities of all educational institutions, especially public universities must remain cautious and come up with necessary measures to maintain a peaceful atmosphere on campuses.

As they [BNP] have no options left, they will now depend on movement on campus by instigating the students in many ways.

So, the students and teachers will have to be united further in order to thwart any plot to create unrest on campuses.

All should keep in mind that the university cannot be a place for doing ill politics but it is an institution for higher learning with teaching, research and other extracurricular facilities.

Apart from keeping up its anti-state conspiracy by appointing lobbyists in different places in the world and investing money at home and abroad, the BNP-Jamaat clique is now instigating the students to create chaos on campus by collecting firearms.

To protect universities and its students and ensure peace on campuses, the Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir, the defeated pro-Pakistan anti-liberation forces and their allies must be kept out of campus.
