Chhatra Dal announces full panel

Ganatantrik Chhatra Sangsad announces 27-member panel

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), BNP's student wing, on Wednesday announced a full panel of candidates ahead of the much-hyped Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election.

JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib made the announcement at a press conference held at the foot of the Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture on the university campus.

Abidul Islam Khan has been nominated for the post of Vice President (VP), Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim for General Secretary (GS), and Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed for Assistant General Secretary (AGS).

Other panel members are Ariful Islam (Secretary for Liberation War and Democratic Movement Affairs), Ehsanul Islam (Secretary for Science and Technology Affairs), and Chemon Faria Islam Meghla (Secretary for Common Room, Reading Room, and Cafeteria Affairs).

Md Mehedi Hasan has been nominated for Secretary for International Affairs, Abu Hayat Md Zulfikar Jisan for Secretary for Literature and Culture Affairs, Chim Chimya Chakma for Secretary for Sports Affairs, and Md Saif Ullah (Saif) for Secretary for Student Transport Affairs.

While Syed Imam Hasan Anik as Secretary for Social Service Affairs, Md Arkanul Islam Rupak as Secretary for Career Development Affairs, Anwar Hossain as Secretary for Health and Environment Affairs, and Md Mehedi Hasan Munna as Secretary for Human Rights and Law Affairs.

The post of Research and Publication Affairs Secretary has been left vacant in honour of Sanjida Ahmed Tanbi, who was injured during the July movement.

Besides, Md Zarif Rahman, Mahmudul Hasan, Nahid Hasan, Md Hasibur Rahman Shakib, Md Shamim Rana, Yasin Arafat Alif, Munim Hasan Arup, Ranjan Roy, Swaib Islam Omi, Meherunnesa Keya, Ibnu Ahmed, Shamsul Haque Anan and Nityanand Pal were nominated as general members.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Sangsad on Wednesday announced a 27-member panel for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) elections under the banner ‘Anti-Discrimination Student Parliament’.

Abdul Kader will compete for the post of vice president (VP) while Md Abu Bakar Mazumdar for general secretary (GS) and Ashrefa Khatun for assistant general secretary (AGS).

Abu Bakar announced it a press conference in front of the university’s central library.

Other nominees include Nahian Faruk for literature and culture Secretary, Mohir Alam for social service secretary, Md. Hasibul Islam for liberation war and democratic movement secretary, and Mohammad Sakib for international secretary.

Al Amin Sarkar will contest for sports secretary, Anika Tahsina for law and human rights secretary, Mitu Akter for common room and cafeteria secretary, Ahad Bin Islam Shoaib for science and technology secretary, Sabbir Ahmed for health and environment secretary, rezwan ahmed Rifat for career and development secretary, and Md. Ismail Hossain Rudra for student transport secretary.

No candidate was nominated for the post of research and publication secretary, showing respect to Sanjida Ahmed Tanvir, who sustained injuries during the last year’s movement on the campus.

For general membership, candidates include Md. Masuduzzaman, Ferdous Ayam, Ismail, Tapsi Rabeya, Md. Armanul Islam, Abdullah Al Mahmud, Rifti Al Jabed, Ashraf Anik, Rownak Jahan, Mahfuza Nowar Nowrin, Nurul Islam Nahid, Arifur Rahman, and Ferdous Alam.
