Cheques distribution program has started in Magura amounting Tk 1.5 crore r among 300 patients suffering from 6 diseases like cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, congenital heart disease, thalassemia and stroke.
On the first day, Cheques of Tk 67 lakh were distributed among 134 Patients of Magura Sadar upazila and municipality on Saturday at Deputy Commissioner's conference room .The rest of Cheques amounting Tk 83 lakh will be distributed among the 166 patients of the remaining 3 upazilas, said the Social Services Office.
This Cheques are distributed under the social security program of the District Social Services Directorate under the Ministry of Social Welfare. Advocate Saifuzzaman Shikhar, Member of Parliament for Magura-1 Constituency, inaugurated the Cheques distribution program as the chief guest. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abu Naser Beg chaired the event while Deputy Director of the Directorate of Social Services Ashadul Islam, Assistant Director Zahidul Alam, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Abu Nasir Bablu spoke among others.
In the event, it was informed that a Cheques of Tk 1 crore 50 lakh is being distributed to each patient of 300 patients suffering from 6 complex diseases in four upazilas of the district amounting Tk 50 thousand per head.
