Cheques distributed among chronic disease patients

The present democratic government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina provides allowances for old age, widows and disabled people in the society through issuing old age cards, widows cards and disability cards to improve their living condition.

Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, State Minister for Social Welfare, said these while speaking as the chief guest at a cheque distribution ceremony to Cancer, Livercerosis patients, organized by Netrokona Social Welfare Department at Netrakona Press Club  on Tuesday.

The government is working relentlessly for the welfare of helpless, jobless and distressed circle of the society especially older, widows and disabled persons. This is why, the government introduced allowances system for these people, he added.

He also said, the government is trying their best to ensure safety and security of the helpless, jobless and workless people who faced severe crisis of food following Corona virus pandemic during the last two months. 

The government provided them with financial assistance after giving food items. At the time, he urged all to stay home, keep social distance on movement and to use masks to protect themselves and others.

    Khasru distributed bank cheques amounting to Tk 98 lakhs among 196 poverty-stricken people, who were suffering from different diseases including cancer, livercerosis and heart ailments in the district.  

Deputy director of district social services department Mohammad Alaluddin,  upazila  social services officer of Netrakona sader Abdullah –AL-Mamun  and general secretary of Netrakona press club Shamolendu Paul  were present there.
