Cheques worth Taka 3,75,000 were distributed among 10 beggars in the district town Thursday under the Beggar Rehabilitation and Creation of Alternative Employment project.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mahbubul Alam distributed the cheques at a function organised by the district Social Services Department at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
It was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Jubayer Hossain, Deputy Director of the district Social Services Department Md Harun or Rashid, Social Services Officer Farhana Nasrin and Counselor Abdul Jalil Khan.
