The chehlum of Mohammed Meftah Ur Rahman, former secretary of Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation, was held at his residence, Swarno Kutir, located at 5 Goal Nagar Lane, English Road, Dhaka, on Friday (March 8) following the Magrib prayers through various programmes.
The programmes include Qurankhwani, milad and doa mahfil.
Ninth incumbent religious leader of Mia Shaheb's Maidan Khankah Sarif Alhaj Hazrat Shah Sufi Sayed Ahamadur Rahim, who is also mutwalli of Sayed Abu Yousuf Abdullah (Ra) Waqf Estate and director of Mia Saheb's Maidan Shah Saheb Bari Jame Masjid Khankah Sarif Luxmibazar, conducted the doa mahfil and akheri munajat.
He bid farewell to this world on February 5, aged 82, and was buried at his family graveyard in Cumilla, said a press statement.
