Taijul Islam struck twice in a span of nine runs with taking the opener Tanzid Hassan on 12 and the one down bat Imranuzzaman on 21 runs by 2.4 overs.

Despite making the early breakthrough, Fortune Barisal could not capitalise the initial momentum to restrict Chattogram (CTG) on an affordable target when the Chattgram based franchise team scored a massive total of 193 runs for four wickets.

In fact, opener Avishak played a devastating innings of unbeaten 91 off 50 balls to steer Chattogram to set a challenging target 194 for Fortune Barisal.

Chasing to a challenging target, instead of having a good start from the openers Tamim and Ahmed Shehzad, Chattogram could managed 183 runs.

However, Avishek, man from Sri Lanka in his exciting display smashed five boundaries and seven over- boundaries just making the opponents’ attacker an ordinary unit.

Apart from Avishek, the other notable contributors were Shahadat Hossain, Najibullah Zadran and Curtis Campher with 31, 18 and 29 runs respectively.

Shahadat scored his 31 off 29 balls with two fours and a six when Nazibullah was slower to score 18 from 19 balls but Curtis Campher made is quick-fire 29 from only nine deliveries when he hit three boundaries and a couple of sixes.

Fortune Barisal, though making a flying start with Tami Iqbal and Ahmed Shehzad scored 55 runs by 5.3 overs before the danger man Shehzad getting out for 39 runs.

The way the openers appeared, it looked that Fortune Barisal were going to taste their second win, even in the second wicket partners also tried hard to keep the drive with scoring 36 runs from 29 deliveries to score 91 runs for two wickets.

Ahmed Shehzad, scored 39 runs playing only 17 balls when the Pakistani opener hit four fours and two sixes.

Tamim Iqbal, who returned to score runs with 33 off 30 balls with two fours and a six, was got out off Campher and Barisal reduced to 91 for two wickets. After Tamim’s departure, Barisal lost their rest of eight wicket in regular intervals when the veterans Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad also failed to stop the collapse.

Mushfique was out for only 23 runs and Mahmudullah scored only two runs.

At the late order Mehidy Hassan Miraz coming at seven raised some hope for Barisal when the national team all-rounder was very much aggressive with scoring 35 from only 15 deliveries with three fours and two sixes.

But Al-Amin, who considered 45 runs in his four overs spell, took only the wicket of Mehidy Hassan Miraz to shattered all hoped of Barisal, they had to finish their innings on 183 runs for seven wickets.
