The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) arrested a man named Md Mamun (38) with foreign weapons and ammunition in a raid at Bishwakloni under Akbar Shah Police Station in Chattogram city.
The arrested Md. Mamun is the son of late Abu Bakkar of Musapur area of Sandwipupazila.
RAB-7 media officer Nuru lAfsar said he was arrested in a raid at Faruq Market near Al Hera Mosque around 1pm on Sunday. A foreign revolver and three rounds of ammunition were recovered from him.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that the arrested accused was a professional armed terrorist. For a long time, he had been using himself to buy and sell weapons and carry out various terrorist activities. Accused Mamun has been handed over to Akbar Shah Police Station, said Nurul Afsar.
