Title contenders Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers are eyeing to register their respective fourth successive win in the 10th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T-20.
Chattogram Challengers will take on Sylhet Strikers when Khulna Tigers will play Durdanto Dhaka in their second phase encounter at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet today. The match will start at 1:30 p.m.
Chattogram Challengers won three out of their four outings and earned six points. The Challengers won over Sylhet Strikers, Fortune Barishal and Durdanto Dhaka but suffered defeat to Khulna Tigers.
On the other hand, Chattogram Challengers, who first match, suffered defeat in the second match and then won two matches in a row. Skipper Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury expected to defeat Sylhet Strikers again after wining in the first meeting by seven wickets in the first phase at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
Meanwhile, Sylhet Strikers lost all three matches in the ongoing tournament. Their last defeat was to the defending Champions Comilla Victorians by 52 runs at Sylhet Stadium on January 26.
Sylhet Strikers’ batters are yet to expose themselves, as they were all out only for 78 runs against the reigning champions.
Captain Mashrafe Mortaza sides looking forward to taste their first win with defeating the Chattogram Challengers.
The match between Khulna Tigers and Durdanto Dhaka will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the same venue (Sylhet Stadium).
Khulna Tigers, who won all three matches in the ongoing tournament, defeated Rangpur Riders by 28 runs in their previous match at this ground.
Skipper and the wicketkeeper of Khulna, Anamul Haque hopes that the team will continue their winning streak.
Durdanto Dhaka are not in a good position when they won the first encounter against defending Champions Comilla Victorians by five wickets at Mirpur and lost previous two matches in a row.
Durdanto Dhaka lost to Rangpur Riders by 79 runs at Sylhet on January 27. Captain Mosaddek Hossain Saikat expected his team will bounce back soon.
