Chatchhari National Park closed

Satchhari National Park at Chunarughat in Habiganj has been declared closed for the third time due to nationwide lockdown. The local administration has said that no one will be allowed to enter the tourist spot during the lockdown.

Chunarughat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Satyajit Ray Das said the government has imposed restrictions from June 28 to July 1 to curb the spread of Covid-19. Satchhari National Park will be completely closed for these three days. The tourist spot will remain closed during the lockdown.

He further said that the duty bearers have been informed about the closure. They will take measures so that no tourist can enter Satchhari National Park. The next government decision will actually be reopened.

Due to the Corona situation, the park, which is popular in the country, was declared closed for the third time. Earlier, the tourist spot was declared closed on March 19. The park has been closed for eight months in the previous two phases.

According to the park authorities, if it is open, two and a half to five thousand tourists come to Satchhari every day. Tickets for the elderly were sold at tk 30 and for minors at tk 25.
