Professor of Mathematics Dr. Chandrani Nag joins as acting president of 'Shahjalal University Teachers Association'. She was also Vice President of this Association. University's Pro Vice Chancellor and former president of the association Dr. Md. Kabir Hossain confirmed this on Thursday.
Since the current president of teacher association Professor Dr. Md. Kabir Hossain has joined as Pro Vice Chancellor of the university. As a result the vice president of the teachers' association Chandrani Nag is promoted as the acting president of the teachers' association, read the promotional letter.
According to Section 13 (1) of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Act, 1987. Md. Kabir Hossain, Professor, Department of Statistics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the said University under the following conditions.
Earlier, the election of teachers' association was held at the university's central auditorium from 9am to 4pm on January 5 this year. In the election, 5 candidates have contested against 5 posts. The total number of voters in the election was 120 teachers.
