The well-known theater group Padatik Natya Sangsad will perform their play "Kal Ratri" in the Experimental Theater Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital today, featuring the young actress Chamok Tara in a key part.

The show of the play will be dedicated to Padatik's late founding member, Abu Mohammad Murtaish, fondly known as Kochi, marking his death anniversary. He was also the founding organising secretary of the Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation. The play ‘Kal Ratri’ has been dramatised by Dr. Tanvir Ahmed Sydney and directed by Wahidul Islam.

Chamok Tara said about her involvement in the play, “I have previously performed in ‘Kal Ratri,’ and I will be doing so again tomorrow if everything goes as planned. This show is mainly to pay tribute to our Padatik Natya Sangsad’s founding member, Abu Mohammad Murtaish, on his death anniversary. His contribution to the establishment of our theatre community was significant, and we remember him with deep respect. As we commemorate his death anniversary, we offer our heartfelt tributes tomorrow night. We certainly hope that he is resting well wherever he is.”

“I urge everyone to attend tomorrow’s show. I especially appeal to those who have an interest in enjoying stage plays to continue their support. For those who have never witnessed a live stage play, I also encourage them to attend,” Chamok added.

Meanwhile, Chamok has been actively involved in tele-dramas and movies. The film ‘Nao,’ directed by R. M. Rubel Mahmud and featuring Chamok Tara, has been slated for release. In this movie, Chamok had the opportunity to work alongside the late veteran actor Masum Aziz.
