CCC to put barcode on rickshaws in Ctg

Published : 16 May 2023 09:42 PM

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) decided to provide barcode in 2021 to reduce the violence of unauthorized rickshaws to control traffic congestion.  Barcodes are placed on the back of rickshaws in July to identify illegal rickshaws plying illegally in Chattogram city.

Last year, the organization fixed the registration and license fees of barcoded rickshaws.  But this program was stuck in the complexity of taking 'license fee' through the bank.

On Tuesday, CCC signed an agreement with the private One Bank.  If the related work is completed within a month, the rickshaw barcode will be given from July.

According to CCC sources, an organization named Chemist CGD Consortium was given the responsibility of making barcodes.  CCC gave work to the organization to make barcodes of 1 lakh 6 thousand rickshaws.  In the meantime, the company has updated the information of 70,100 old rickshaws in the software.  The rest of the rickshaws will be of new license.  By installing barcodes on rickshaws, it will be easy to recognize the legal rickshaws, as well as the traffic department will be able to take action against illegal vehicles.

If you want to take the rickshaw barcode, you have to pay a total of 450 taka including registration fee 300 taka, license fee 100 taka and application form 50 taka.

Then you can get the rickshaw license with barcode.  The tenure will be two years.  After that, you have to renew every year with a fee of 100 taka.  The license application form should be taken by the rickshaw owner, driver.

At the same time, driving license cards will also be given to rickshaw pullers.  For this, you have to multiply by 50 taka.

However, for the first year rickshaw pullers will be charged Tk 100 for application fee and card.  Later only 50 taka will be charged on the card only.  And all these transactions will be through the private bank One Bank.
