CCC mayor urges to provide house for low-income people

REHAB needs to provide house for low-income people and achieve sustainable development goals said Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation AJM Nasir Uddin while inaugurating a four-day-long housing fair organised by Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) at Hotel Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View on Thursday. He also spoke at an anti-drug and dowry rally a Laldigi Moydan in the port city.

The mayor also said the current government has arranged allowance for landless people. At one time, it was very difficult to rent a house. This situation has been changed, REHAB benefitted a lot of people by their housing business. However, many are doing housing business without being a member of REHAB.

Vice President of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) and Chittagong Regional Committee Chairman Abdul Kayium Chowdhury said that no action could be taken against any housing organization even though it is not a member of REHAB.

If the Ministry of Commerce and government agencies negotiate with REHAB members to pass a housing plan, it will be possible to bring back the discipline in the housing sector.

REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin (Kajal) chaired the meeting while Chittagong Development Authority Chairman Zahirul Alam Chowdhury Dhobash, Vice President of REHAB Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan addressed as the special guest at the function. During this time, a check for a donation of Tk1 lakh was given to the special children's organization, Nispap Autism Foundation.
