Cattle thieves nabbed in Kishoreganj

Police have arrested two cattle thieves along with four cows and a truck in Kishoreganj. Patrolling members of Kishoreganj Model Police Station arrested those cattle thieves on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj Regional Highway near Parapara­mananda village in Sadar Upazila on Monday night. 

The arrested cattle thieves were identified as Lal Mia (27), son of Nazrul Islam of Golakpara village in Shibganj upazila of Bogra district and Mazharul Islam (30), son of Hafiz Akand of Chakmakra village in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibanda district. The other thieves fled.

It is learned that the cows were stolen from the barn of Md. Habibur Rahman of Aranyapasha village in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh district on August 23 at around 5 am. Police arrested two thieves along with a truck while searching a police check post in Paraparamananda area of Chaddoshata Union. Others managed to escape. 

Later the rescued cattle and thieves were handed over to Nandail police in a theft case at Nandail police station. After identification, 4 cows will be handed over to the right owner.

Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Bakar Siddique said the thief and the stolen cattle were caught along with the truck. Thieves and stolen cattle have been handed over to Nandail police station.
