Rearing cows, especially, female species of milking cow is an easy and dignified way of earning livelihood in rural Bangladesh through which our youth could remove the curse of unemployment within a few years.
Izahar Mollah said he could not be satisfied with his little income from small pieces of land and business. As he was selling feed for the animals at Hatfazilpur Bazer in the area, he realized that rearing improved Frisian species of cow might provide him more profit.
Initially he started with a single cow which was giving child every year. All the cows in his family farm are child of the same mother. To meet some family needs he had sold a number of cows for over Taka four lakh in last two years.
The young farmer said there are huge number of men and women leading an unemployed life having no suitable job. Some of them are well educated too. A lot of people also leave country searching their fates abroad with risk of life spending several lakh Taka.
But the non-risky work like dairy farm or similar activities might ensure more money which the unemployed dream of. The dairy farm might help play an important role in employing lakhs of unemployed youths staying at home, he added.
