A case has been filed against former municipal mayor and prominent businessman Khan Mohammad Kabir Hossain and Shahin-ul-Haq Shaon, son of Monirul Haque of Bhawakhali area on April 23 for injuring a young man named Pratik Biswas Sadhan (35) at Vadulidanga area in Narail municipal area. In this case, Khan Md. Kabir Hossain has been accused and his relatives have claimed that he has been accused conspiratorially.
According to the case file, Pratik Biswas Sadhan, son of Prallad Biswas of Narail village in the municipal area, along with his farm official Tariqul Islam Munna went to his business office at Tofail Sikder's house at Vadulidanga area from Boubazar on a motorcycle around 8:00 pm on Wednesday (April 21). When they reached the north side of Shyamal's house on the west side of Vadulidanga temple, the miscreants stopped their motorcycle and stabbed Sadhan’s right hand with a sharp weapon. The miscreants also beat up Tariqul Islam Munna at that time. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued Sadhan and took him to Narail Sadar Hospital. He was later admitted to Jashore Pangu Hospital.
According to police sources, Shahin-ul-Haq Shaon was arrested by the police on Wednesday night (April 21) after the incident. He was later sent to jail.
Meanwhile, Khan Mohammad Kabir Hossain’s wife Usai Arafat has claimed that her husband is a former mayor of Narail municipality and a prominent businessman, has been accused Sadhan’s injuries of hiding the real motive behind the incident. She said that her husband was implicated in the case out of jealousy over her husband's business prosperity and popularity. The fact that her husband was not involved in the incident will come out if the police interrogate the local shopkeepers and residents in the vicinity of the incident. She further said that on the day of the incident (Wednesday), her husband Khan Md. Kabir Hossain moved to his residence in Vadulidanga at 5:49 pm. He did not go anywhere outside the house that night. He said that the truth of the matter could be found by checking the CCTV camera of his house.
On condition of anonymity, shopkeepers and residents of the area said that after Sadhan was attacked by unknown miscreants, we rushed to the spot in his self-consciousness. He was later sent to Narail Sadar Hospital. They have requested to the police not to involve any innocent person in the incident. Md. Sajib Hossain Biswas, a resident of the area, said that there was anger in the area as former municipal mayor and prominent businessman Khan Md. Kabir Hossain was accused in the case.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Md Ilias Hossain said police have started investigation into the case. One person has been arrested in the incident.
