Capital punishment for killers of journo demanded

Local journalists in Savar, Dhamrai and Manikganj formed a human chain in front of Dhamrai Press Club on Friday and demanded capital punishment to the killers of TV journalist Julhas Uddin.

They journalists in the human chain said that the murder incident of Julhas Uddin is so pathetic and killers brutally stabbed him to death. They said that the journalists are worried about their safety as the murder took place in brought daylight. “So, we demanded capital punishment for the killers and if it is confirmed immediately, then such brutal killings will not be repeated,” they said. 

Abu Hasan, Correspondent of Daily Kaler Kantho and the president of Dhamrai Press Club, Anisur Rahman Swapon, Secretary of the press club, spoke at the human chain. 

Earlier, two accused allegedly stubbed Julhas Uddin, a local correspondent of Bijoy TV, centering old feud and leaving him injured critically, on Thursday. Later, he died on the way to Manikganj Sadar Hospital. Police, however, have arrested two in this connection and a case has been filed with Dhamrai Police Station.
