Candles lighting held at Rajban Bihar

Eighty-four thousands candle lighting, a day-long special religious event of the Buddhist people, was held at Rangamati Rajban Bihar with great religious fervour on Wednesday. Pragya Sadhana Prakashani (PSP), a publishing house for Buddhist devotees, organised the function. 

The programme was started from 8:00am and concluded at 4:00pm through different religious sessions including hoisting of Buddhist flag, offering Pindo Dan (meal) to monks in the morning, Panchashila prayer, atthaporikhara Dan, Sangha Dan, Buddha Murti Dan (Statue), donating and lighting of 84 thousands candles, Thripithak Dan, Kalpaturu Dan and donating of cash money for under-construction Pagoda.

Abbot and residential chief of Rajban Bihar Monastery venerable monk Pragya Lanker Mohasthabir came to the stage along with others monks at 2:00pm. 

Pragya Lanker gave the sermon in the gathering where hundreds of devotees came from various outlying areas in the district.

President of Pragya Sadhana Prakashani Sanjoy Bikash Chakma addressed the function while its joint secretary Adyut Jyoti Chakma moderated it.

Engineer Naba Kumar Tanchangya, general secretary of PSP, read out a written special prayer from the behalf of their publishing house. 

For the first time ever, Somogra Thripitak in pali version were published by the PSP and donated to the monks in the programme. Earlier, those were published in English version.  Later, all devotees joint in the 84 thousands hand-made candles lighting at evening.
