Canal excavation projerct begins in Bhola

Canal excavation work, the priority project of the present government  has started in Bhola district. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shamim Rahman inaugurated the canal excavation work on Monday morning.

Deputy Commissioner Shamim Rahman was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the 4-kilometer canal excavation work from Kanainagar Andir Canal in Dhania Union under Sadar Upazila to the sluice gate of the Meghna River in the first phase of the project under EGPP.

He said, "The government's canal excavation program is playing an important role in the development of the country's poorest people. Because on the one hand, through this program, employment opportunities are being created for the common people, on the other hand, it is also making a special contribution to local infrastructure development, improvement of water drainage system and agricultural production."

Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Arifuzzaman, NDC ATM Ruhul Amin and Upazila Project Officer Md. Ziaur Rahman, among others, were present at the inauguration ceremony organized by the Bhola Sadar Upazila Administration and Disaster Management Department.
