Call to conduct research for socio-economic dev

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman called upon the researchers to conduct fundamental research for developing socio-economic condition of the country. 

“We have to innovate new technologies through researches to make Bangladesh a developed country,” he said while speaking at the inaugural session of a day-long scientific seminar on Saturday (March 18). 

Association of Humboldt Fellows Bangladesh (AHFB) arranged the seminar at the Centre for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) of Dhaka University. 

DU VC inaugurated the seminar, while president of AHFB and Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University Prof Dr Md Imdadul Hoque presided over the inaugural session.  

Ambassador of Germany in Bangladesh Achim Troster addressed the event as the chief guest, while Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Prof Dr Md Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan addressed the function as special guest. General Secretary of AHFB Prof Dr. Md. Samsul Alam delivered the welcome speech. 

In his speech, Prof Akhtaruzzaman said that he hopes young researchers of the country will be highly benefited by sharing knowledge at this scientific seminar and will have proper guideline for innovative researches.   

In his speech, German Ambassador Achim Troster stressed the need for undertaking joint collaborative research programme and exchanging scientific knowledge between Bangladesh and Germany to attain technological development. He also emphasized on strengthening friendly relationship among the scientists of different countries to establish peace and harmony in the world.
