Cabrera observes player’s performance

Bangladesh national football coach Javier Cabrera returned to Dhaka from Spain on Friday after one and half months leave and joined the coaching staff on Saturday.

The Spanish went to Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium, Gopalganj on Saturday to watch the fourth round match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football between two former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra.  

He will keenly observe the players’ performances in this match. Cabrera also watched some matches of the Independence Cup at different grounds. 

After the Independence Cup tournament, Cabrera renewed his deal with Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and went to Spain for vacation. 

Cabrera also watched some matches of the ongoing league and the Federation Cup matches during living in Spain. Now he will watch the matches in different grounds. 

Cabrera is watching the matches to review the player’s performances in the BPL and Federation Cup matches, as he will select the players for FIFA World Cup Round-2 qualifying match against Palestine in March.

Meanwhile, the head of the national team was always on contact with the assistant coach Hasan Al Mamun and updated about the situation of the team and the players’ performances. 

Hasan Al Mamun said, “We went to Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium, Goplaganj for watching BPL match. We will watch lot of matches being present at the grounds. Players will be selected for the World Cup qualifying considering their performances.”  

Bangladesh team will play two practice matches in March before the qualifying round-2 match against Palestine.  

Bangladesh national team will have a residential camp probably in the Middle East. BFF has been communicating with Qatar and Saudi Arab. 

The two matches against Palestine will be held on March 21 and 26 in away and hme respectively when the venues are yet to be finalised.
