CAAB urges Canada to raise air connectivity

Civil Aviation Authority has urged the Canadian government to increase air traffic between Bangladesh and Canada. At the same time, it has also been requested to increase connectivity through code sharing with Air Canada and other international Airlines including Biman Bangladesh Airlines.  

Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman 

made this request to the Canadian High Commissioner Lilly Nicholls during a meeting at the CAAB Headquarter in the capital on Tuesday. 

CAAB Chairman has also requested the High Commissioner to provide necessary cooperation regarding the approval of passenger pick-up and drop-off at the intermediate stopover point on the Toronto flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. 

He also requested to consider the issue of code sharing of BimanBangladesh Airlines with Canada’s local airlines.

Canadian High Commissioner Lilly Nicholls has assured maximum cooperation in this regard. 

During the meeting it was also discussed the areas of investment by Canada in the development of infrastructure in the aviation sector as well as training and technical assistance in continuation of the bilateral relationship.

At the end of the discussion, both parties expressed hope that the communication between two friendly countries will increase further.
