Butterfly fair at JU tomorrow

The Butterfly Fair-2022 will be held on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Friday. The universities Zoology department will organize the fair at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium premises to raise awareness among the masses to conserve butterfly in the environment. Convenor of the fair Prof Md. Monwar Hossain made the disclosure of the event through a press conference at the university’s central cafeteria lounge. 

This year, Butterfly Award-2022 will be given to Torupollob, a plant preservationist organization, for their contribution on conserving butterflies and Butterfly Young Enthusiast-2022 award will be given to Dipto Biswas, a student of Zoology of Dhaka University.

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md. Nurul Alam will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest. The daylong fair will be featured with drawing competition for children, rally, puppet show,  photography exhibition, butterfly exhibition, butterfly identification competition, debate competition and documentary exhibition on Butterfly and its habitat.

Mentionable, the Zoology department of  JU in association with Cute Ltd, Prokriti O Jibon Foundation and Channel I has been organizing the fair since 2010.
