Md Ahsan Habib Sagar, a 31-year-old businessman specialising in Thai aluminum, has been missing since April 3. Sagar, who ventured out from his home in Chattogram's Boalkhali upazila for business commitments, has not been seen or heard from for the past five days.

Rumi Aktar, Sagar's wife, has taken decisive action in response to her husband's unexplained disappearance. Last night, she filed a case against unidentified individuals at the Chandgaon Police Station, citing fears of abduction and extortion.

This legal move came after her initial complaint to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) on April 5, signaling her growing concern for her husband's safety.

The case documents reveal that Sagar was headed to the Kaptai Rastar Matha area for work-related reasons when he vanished. Efforts to contact him have been in vain, as his mobile phone remains switched off, complicating search efforts. Despite exhaustive searches at likely locations, there has been no trace of Sagar.

Officer-in-Charge Jahidul Kabir of the Chandgaon Police Station acknowledged the complexity of the situation, citing the switched-off mobile phone as a significant hurdle in locating Sagar. Despite the challenges, an abduction and extortion case has been officially registered, underscoring the severity of the situation.

Kabir expressed optimism about resolving the case, emphasising ongoing efforts to locate the missing businessman.
