A motorbike dealer had died and his associate received serious injuries in a road accident in Shailkua upazila in Jhenaidah. The incident took place at Lakkhandia village on Shailkupa-Hatgopalpur road on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jamal Hossain, 45, son of late Mohsin Ali of Kabirpur area in Shailkupa municipality. He was the owner of a motorbike selling agency Jamal Autos in the area.
Shailkupa police station officer in charge Jahangir Alam said Jamal along with one of his associate was marching towards Abaipur in the same upazila on his bike to collect the installments from some subscribers. When he arrived near Lakkhandia at about 9.30m, another bike from the opposite direction hit them.
The injured were rushed to Faridpur medical college hospital in a critical state. Jamal had died there at about 12 in the noon there when he was undergoing treatment. The namaj e janaja of Jamal was held at Shailkaupa Muktijoddha complex market in the afternoon of the day.
