Country’s business leaders said there is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh. Irrespective of all political affiliation, businessmen want the continuity of the government to uphold the progress and development of Bangladesh. They came up with these statements while addressing the Business Conference on Building Smart Bangladesh in city’s Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on Saturday night.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended conference as chief guest and addressed the opening session. She pledged the business leaders that the government is always beside them. The premier also urged the business community to develop new products and find new markets for exports utilising their innovative ideas.

All believe Sheikh Hasina is needed for continuing the development and progress of Bangladesh as political affiliation of the businessmen is not important to her.  The ruling Awami League never judge any businessman seeing their political affiliation.

All the business leaders expressed their trust and confidence in the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. The mega projects of the present government have changed the socioeconomic status of Bangladesh unprecedentedly in last 14 and half years.

It is known to all that the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has fought against the Covid-19 calling it a “war” in order to keep the country’s wheels of economy running. Various stimulus packages were provided by the government to the affected industries and businesses which resulted in a turnaround of the export-oriented sector.

Therefore, apart from Covid-19 pandemic, Russia-Ukraine war, the government has been facing various natural disasters like flash flood and cyclonic storm which affected many districts of the country for the last three years. But Sheikh Hasina has kept the country’s economy vibrant and been able to transform Bangladesh into a developing country.

A conducive and business friendly environment is prevailing in the country due to liberal trade policy and various supports provided by the government in line with the aim to build the ‘Golden Bengal’- dreamt by Bangabandhu. One day this Bangladesh will be built as a developed and prosperous country.

Bangladesh has now emerged as an attractive destination for the foreign entrepreneurs, investors and importers. Moreover, the implementation of several important mega projects including the Padma Bridge and increase in power generation has given momentum to the economy, which is playing a supporting role in attracting foreign investment and increasing export earnings.

As all factories, industries, mills, offices, hotels, motels, restaurants, tourist spots, shopping malls and all other business activities are running now in full, country sees strong economic growth. So, the business leaders will have to be determined to keep Bangladesh’s economic activities running. They must develop new products and find new markets for exports utilising their innovative ideas.
