At least nine people were injured after a 'Shanti Paribahan' bus fell into a roadside ditch in Khagrachhari's Ramgarh upazila on Tuesday morning.
Five of the injured are in critical condition. The accident happened at about 6AM at Mahbubnagar area.
It was learnt that, the Shanti Paribahan night coach bus, carrying 10 people, left Dhaka on around 11:40PM on Monday for Khagrachhari. Around 6AM, the driver of the bus lost control and the vehicle fell into the 100-ft deep roadside ditch.
Getting information, Fire Service members with the help of residents of the area, rescued the injured and took them to Guimara Border Guard Bangladesh Hospital.
Injured passengers alleged that the driver was driving recklessly from the beginning.
The drive managed to flee, said Ramgarh Police Station OC Mohammad Moin Uddin.
