Burned chicken farm in Cox’s Bazar yet to get aid

The chicken farm that was destroyed by fire in Kalatali area of Cox's Bazar is still in that condition. Burning smell all around. The farmer is worried about whether he will be able to raise chickens again in this farm. The family was still living under the open sky the day the house burned down. Although the fire caused a loss of half a crore taka to the chicken farm, no government or private support has been received so far.

According to local residents, a fire broke out in the farm of woman entrepreneur Nayan Selima in Kalatali Goymatoli village of Cox's Bazar municipality on the afternoon of July 14. At this time, 2 residential houses were also burnt to ashes. The farmer claimed that the fire caused a loss of around 50 lakh taka.

Locals said that the fire started in the farm at 3 pm on Thursday. In no time, the fire spread to 2 houses and the entire farm. On receiving the information, 3 units of Cox's Bazar Fire Service and Civil Defense reached the spot and brought the fire under control in 3 hours with the help of locals.

Chicken farmer woman entrepreneur Nayan Selina said, she raised chickens on the farm with a loan from Dutch Bangla Bank. The farm has been making losses for a long time and it has suffered a lot in this fire. Four sheds of his farm were gutted in the fire. About 2,500 layers of chicken, 1,000 eggs, food worth 1 lakh taka were burnt to ashes. He claimed that the fire caused a loss of around 50 lakh taka.

Woman entrepreneur and farm owner Nayan Selina said that five days have passed after the fire but still no government or private assistance has been received. The owner of the farm, Nayan Selina, has also lodged a complaint with the Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station saying that the fire started from the fire of the furnace in the neighboring house. On Sunday, a police team from Sadar Model Police Station visited the spot and spoke to the locals.

Members of the three families that were burnt are still living under the open sky.

Woman entrepreneur Nayan Selina said that she has lost 50 lakh taka in this fire. The burnt chickens were blown up next to the farm. However, the smell of burning chicken is still around. Nayan Selina said, I am in doubt whether I can rebuild the burnt farm. I did this farm with a loan from the bank. Now I'm all burned. I could not understand how to pay the money to the bank. I have to take loan again to rebuild the farm on it. But there is no one to provide loans low.
