Harvesting of bean is going on in full swing at Berbari village under Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga district.
The bean cultivators are very happy for huge production this season. The rate of bean is fair at present. They are selling at TK. 35 per kg.
Chainul Islam, a bean farmer of Berbari village, was harvesting with other members of his family at his bean cultivation field. When this correspondent asked him about bean cultivation, he said that he sowed bean on 10 kathas of land 3 months back. Now he has been harvesting bean three days of a week.
He also said he has expended Tk. 6 thousand for cultivation of the bean and already have earned Tk. 17,000 by selling the bean.
It is learnt a total of 50 mounds of bean would be produced in the field. He is expected to sell bean worth of tk. 1, 00,000 within 3 months.
