Bulbul recalls Eddi Barlow on this special day

Bangladesh earned the Test status on this day in the year 2000 (June 26) when the  journey began 25 years ago and the former South African cricketer Eddi Barlow was the coach of the team during the memorable occassion.

At this special moment, Bulbul particularly remembered the late Eddie Barlow, who was the coach of the Bangladesh team from 1999 to 2001. The name of Barlow to the new generation is quite unfamiliar, but it is natural that he exists. His contribution was very important in getting the country's cricket Test status.

The Bangladesh team planned everything under him, be it a 3-day match, a 4-day match or a 5-day match.

Due to a long illness, Barlow returned to his country and never returned. However, Bulbul still remembers Barlow. so Bulbul before the silver jubilee said about Barlow, “We will miss our late coach very much. He is no longer in the world. We will also remember him. 

In 2000 Bangladesh played their inaugural Test match against India on November 10.  

Aminul Islam Bulbul, who earned the feat to score centurry the debut Test of the country as well him, is now the board president.

Under the leadership of Bulbul,  BCB has set various programs to mark the silver jubilee of Test status.

Bulbul, also thinks that like the ceremomny of the silver jubilee of the Test status, Bangladesh should observe the day of playing the first international match of 1977, the day when we won the first ICC Champions Trophy in 1997 and also the the that very day of winning the first Test match with beffeting manner.        

Bulbul believes that the members of the debut Test will always be friends, "The 11 members of the debut Test are a part of our history. We are lifelong friends, we will definitely remember that for the rest of our lives." BCB has organized a gathering to mark the silver jubilee.

BCB has organized a gathering on the silver jubilee. Regarding the presence of all the cricketers, Bulbul said, 'Many are outside the country doing coaching. Rokon is outside, besides many others are not in the country now. Those who are will be present.

"Everyone from that time will be there, along with the players. The team manager, the coach of that time, they will also be present."
