Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin has termed the budget proposed by the government for the fiscal year 2020-21 as a practical document to address the corona situation and socio-economic challenges.
The mayor made the remarks in an immediate response to the budget proposal in parliament on Thursday.
He said the budget is a combination of the government's past achievements and emergencies capable of dealing with the corona epidemic and no means of ambition. The education and health sectors have gained importance in the budget for essential reasons.
The mayor said this budget focuses on agriculture, food production and management, local government and rural development, social security, education, technology, employment and there are clear guidelines for moving forward towards a prosperous future.
AJM Nasir Uddin commented that social security and safety is the main spirit of this year's budget as per the reflection of public aspirations.
