Moti Majhi is very simple, but with a hot temper. Moti helps the poor cross the river without any money but if someone does anything crude he doesn’t take them across the river whoever it may be. Just as there is problem between him and anyone who is not a regular customer of his, in the same way he finds no peace at home because of the problems between his mother and wife, Fulbanu. One such day because of a fight that happened between his mother and wife, he beat his wife and threw out his mother out of the house.

This is exploited by the chairman of the village who is already angry at him. He was punished with two ten inch bricks being tied to his stomach. This causes Moti to suffer a lot. Not only that, the little boys and girls in the village find him to be a fool. Once his mother became ill, he heard that his boat had been stolen when he went to the river crossing to take her to the hospital. Finding no other way he crossed the river carrying his mother.

This is the backdrop of the story of a village reject called ‘Buddhimaan Gadha’. Rawnak Hasan played the role of Moti and in the character of his wife is Shanarei Devi Shanu. The play was written by Mezbah Uddin Sumon and directed by SM Kamruzzaman Sagor.

Regarding the play, Rawnak said there is very little work that can be done to make the character feel in love. The television drama storyline has been one of my favorite works. I was able to play a character that I was very proud of. I had to act with two real bricks tied to my belly.

About this, Shanu said that the village has its own essence, which has been brought into the story by Sagor. Here my character is a rural bride who is childless. I often quarrel with my mother-in-law. I had a lot of fun with my character.

Other actors in the drama are Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Hashi Moon, Mohiuddin Lalu, Sanjay Nath, Jafar Iqbal and others. The television drama will be aired on Channel-i today at 4 pm.
