The research team of Barishal University (BU) has won the 'Best Poster Award' for participating in an international conference organized by the Bangladesh Council of Science and Industry Research (BCSIR).
On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a three-day "International Conference on Science and Technology for Celebrating the Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu (ICSTB-2021)" was organized by the Bangladesh Council of Science and Industry (BCSIR) on March 11-13.
At the conference, about 750 keynote speakers from home and abroad were accepted for speakers, invited talk, oral presentation and poster sessions.
Two posters were accepted from Assistant Professor of Physics research Dr Md Khorshed Alam’s team of Barishal University at the International Conference. One of which was Dr Md Khorshed Alam presented himself and the poster was presented by his thesis student Touhidur Rahman.
Out of 175 posters, the judges selected three for the Best Award considering the originality of the research work and the poster presented by Touhidur Rahman, a student of Barisal University, was selected for the 2nd Best Poster Award.
Dr Md Khorshed Alam received the crest and certificate as the head of the research team from Deputy Minister of Education Barrister Mahibul Hasan Choudhuri Nawfel, BCSIR Chairman and Conference Chair Professor Dr Aftab Ali Sheikh.
Barisal University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Sadequlul Arefin congratulated BU's research team on its success, saying the achievement would make the students' morale stronger and more confident, and the achievement would inspire others.
