BTV Jamalpur correspondent Mustafa Babul passes away

Bangladesh Television (BTV) Jamalpur correspondent Mustafa Babul (63) passed away.  He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in Dhaka around 12.5 on Sunday night.

 He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.  After hearing the news of Mustafa Babur's death, a shadow of grief fell on Jamalpur journalists and Sudhi Mahal.

 Mostafa Babul was seriously injured in a tragic road accident at Sarishabari Upazila on Saturday (November 4).  First he was taken to Jamalpur Diabetic General Hospital.  Later, he was taken to the United Hospital of Dhaka for better treatment that night. 

The accident resulted in massive bleeding on the brain and a fractured spine.  He was under treatment at United Hospital of the capital since last Sunday.  When he was taken on life support on Sunday evening, November 12, he breathed his last at 12:05 p.m. on Monday.

Veteran journalist Mustafa Babul was district representative of BTV, former general secretary of Jamalpur Press Club, senior member of Jamalpur Online Journalist Network.  

He was well known as a journalist as well as a poet and columnist.

The first prayer of the deceased was held on Monday after Maghrib at Jamalpur District Model Mosque.

The funeral was attended by Jamalpur Police Superintendent Kamruzzaman, Awami League President and Zilla Parishad Chairman Ed Baki Billah, Jamalpur Press Club President Hafiz Rehan Sada.  General Secretary Lutfar Rahman , journalists, public and businessmen of Jamalpur along with  locals were present.
