A new 13-member executive committee of the Bangladesh Sugarcrops Research Institute (BSRI) Scientists’ Association has been formed in Ishwardi, Pabna. The committee was announced following the decision of the association’s recent general meeting.
Dr Md Shamsul Arefin, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Physiology and Sugar Chemistry Division, has been elected as President, while Dr Md Munir Hossain, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the On-Farm Research Division, has been chosen as General Secretary.
The other key office bearers are: Dr AKM Rashedul Islam, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Agronomy and Farming Systems Division, as Vice-President; Dr Md Shariful Islam, Senior Scientific Officer and Head of Training and Technology Transfer Division, as Joint General Secretary; Md Robiul Islam, Scientific Officer of the Plant Pathology Division, as Publicity and Communication Secretary; Dr Md Shafiqul Islam, Senior Scientific Officer of the Entomology Division, as Seminar and Publication Secretary; Nazneen Sultana, Scientific Officer of the Entomology Division, as Office Secretary; and Dr Md Nur Alam, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Entomology Division, as Treasurer.
The executive members are Dr Md Nure Alam Siddiqui, Dr KM Rezaul Karim, Dr Hasan Mohammad Tariq, Dr Md Sohrab Hossain, and Dr Nilufar Islam.
