Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) did not show up a flag meeting invited by the BGB at Nirmolchar frontier across Godagari upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday morning.

It is learnt, on Friday BSF caught five Bangladeshi cowhands from Godagari frontier. BGB invited a flag meeting at the zero point of Nirmalchar on Saturday morning aiming to get back those Bangladeshis but the BSF did not appear at the scene. As a result, BGB team returned without holding the meeting.

About 11-00 am on Friday morning BSF nabbed five Bangladeshi cowhands from Khorchaka frontier areas of Godagari. They were identified as Rajon Hossain(25), Sohel Rana (27), Kabil Hossain(25), Shahin Ali(35) and Shafiqul  Islam(30) of Gohmabona village under Paba upazila of the district. BSF nabbed them while they were feeding their cattle heads at the char land of the river Padma.

Following the incident, BGB invited the BSF on Friday to hold a flag meeting on Saturday morning. Accordingly, a BGB team went to the zero point of Nirmolchar frontier but BSF members did not show up there.

Lieutenant Colonel Ferdous Ziauddin Mahmud, Commander of BGB, Rajshahi-1 battalion informed, BSF did not attend the flag meeting in the morning. However, they might appear in the afternoon. He was trying to return the nabbed Bangladeshis through the flag meeting. Till  writing of this report at 5-30 pm, no responsible BGB official in Rajshahi attended the phone to confirm whether the flag meeting was held in the afternoon.
