A 10-day BSCIC Entrepreneurs Fair was inaugurated in Rajshahi on Friday. The aim of the fair is to boost economic condition of the region through increased promotion of its industrial sector.
District office of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) is hosting the fair on the Green Plaza of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC).
A spectrum of locally produced industrial goods, including leather products, jute-made products, processed agricultural products, electrical and electronic goods, clothes, design and fashion wares and other products are being displayed at 60 stalls set up at the fair.
RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton addressed the opening ceremony as the chief guest. Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Tarafder Akter Jamil, BSCIC Regional Director Rezaul Alam Sarker, Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Hedayetul Islam and President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Masudur Rahman spoke as special guests with Additional Deputy Commissioner Sarker Asim Kumar in the chair.
The fair will remain open from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm every day.
BSS from Chapainawabganj reports: A 10-day long Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Entrepreneurs Fair was inaugurated on the Deputy Commissioner's office premises here.
BSCIC district office arranged the fair under the supervision of the district administration. Acting Deputy Commissioner, also the Deputy Director of Local Government, Debendranath Oraon opened the fair as the chief guest.
Later a discussion was held at Bangabandhu Manch with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Anisur Rahman in the chair.
Among others, Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mst. Tasmina Khatun, Assistant General Manager of BSCIC, Chapainawabganj Md. Abu Hossain, Bir Muktijoddha Advocate Md. Abdus Samad spoke on the occasion.
A total of 50 entrepreneurs participated in the fair and set up their stalls to exhibit their products.
The first day's programme concluded with a grand cultural function arranged by Chapainawabganj Zila Shilpakala Academy in the evening.
The cultural function is scheduled to be held every evening during the fair till February 10.
