A Malhar Festival is going to be held at the National Theater Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). Today and tomorrow Bangladeshi and Indian artistes will spread the rhythm, tune and motif to all spectators. The two-day event will start at 6:30pm.
The musicians who will be present at the festival are Shayani Sande, Pandit Debjyoti Bose, Pandit Shubhankar Banerjee, Pandit Kushal Das and Priyanka Gop from Bangladesh.
Shayani Shinde is a classical musician. At the age of six, she got her hands on music. She has received the Music Drama Academy Award, Ustad Bismillah Khan Youth Award including many other awards. She also has several albums. Shayani Shinde regularly conducts concerts in different countries including India.
Pundit Kushal Das plays setar. He has also become a scholar by teaching himself how to play taking lessons from renowned maestros.
Pandit Debjyoti Bose will also be performing. He has also received many awards. In the UK, the United States, Russia, China, the tunes have been delivered. Debjyoti Bose has also made tunes for the film.
His finger was on the tabla from the age of four. And now the tip of his fingers have turned into a magical wands. Pandit Shubhankar Banerjee will be in Tabla. He has had the opportunity to get in touch with many scholars. Among them are Pandit Ravi Shankar, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Mentionable, Shubhankar Banerjee has performed at various major events in different countries.
Priyanka Gop from Bangladesh University completed her Masters in Music from Rabindra Bharati University and joined the Music Department of Dhaka University. She regularly sings on various television channels in the country.
The two-day event is open to everyone. The Indian High Commission of Dhaka has organized the Malharuit Festival. This festival is a musical bonanza that welcomes rain through blissful classical raag. This festival presents a great opportunity for the people of the city to witness well-known artists from India rendering some of their best compositions. It also is a great learning experience for music enthusiasts who love classical music.
