BSA celebrates World Music Day

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) organised a day-long programme marking the World Music Day featuring discussion and cultural programme on the day at its premises as part of the celebration.

The inaugural ceremony of the programme was held at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 4:00pm. State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid graced the occasion as chief guest.

Bangladesh Musicians Foundation, BSA children Troupe, Shishu Academy, Dhaka Cultural Troupe, Government Music College, Dhaka University Music Department, Jagannath University Music Department, presented musical chorus while prominent singers of the country performed on the occasion.   

Alongside, Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) celebrate “Fête de la Musique 2019” which is globally known as ‘World Music Day’ with a series musical performance in its La Galerie from 2:15 pm to 10:00 pm.

Aiming to integrate through the universal language of melody and rhythm, the ‘Fête de la musique’ inspires an overture to a participative lyrical voyage by putting forward thousands of free concerts all over the world. Celebrated on the day of the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, 21 June, the ‘Fête de la musique’ was initiated in 1982.
