It is just terrifying to hear the news that killers sliced Jhenaidah-4 lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar’s body into many pieces and later separated bone from the flesh to hide his body. He (Anwarul Azim) went missing in Kolkata (West Bengal) last week and later was murdered in a residential flat there on May 13.

After spraying turmeric powder on the separated parts of the body, the killers then took those out of the flat in travel bags to different places. The plan of the murder was designed two to three months ago in Dhaka. As they did not succeed to kill Azim in Dhaka, the killers designed the plan to murder him in Kolkata, Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police say.

Three persons were arrested in connection with the killing of lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata on May 13. We demand justice through a fair investigation into Anwarul Azim’s death. We also want to see killers get exemplary punishment. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the law enforcement agencies have ‘almost identified’ the killers of Anwarul Azim.

We demand justice

 through a fair investigation

 into Anwarul Azim’s death.

We believe our intelligence agencies can identify the killers and unearth the motive behind the murder. The information DB police have got so far is that some persons in our country are involved in the killing.

This tragic death of an MP has saddened the people of the Jhenaidah-4 constituency. It is worrying that a lawmaker was killed in such a brutal way.  The killers of Anwarul Azim must be brought to justice as early as possible.

It is happy to note that Bangladesh and India are working together to resolve the mystery of the murder of Anwarul Azim Anar. Bangladesh mission in India should be in regular contact with Kolkata Police on the whole matter. We hope, thorough investigations will be carried out to detect the motive behind his murder.

According to plainclothes police, we have a feeling that somebody plotted his death. We are confident that our high commission in India, the Indian government, Kolkata police and our DB police and intelligence agencies are taking this case seriously and will update the country and take appropriate action accordingly.

We cannot accept the killing of such a public representative in anyway. The trial of Anwarul Azim's killers must be held on the soils of Bangladesh and be given extreme punishment.
