The BRTC bus service has been inaugurated on Jamalpur-Dhaka highway. This bus service has been started cutting a ribbon from Fouzdari Mor area of Jamalpur town on Thursday in response of the demand of the people of the district.
Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) authorities has given two air-conditioned buses on Jamalpur-Tangail-Dhaka route. The buses will depart from Jamalpur on 7:00am and 12:00am every day. The buses will leave Dhaka’ Kamalapur for Jamalpur at the same time every day. The fair for Jamalpur to Dhaka trip has been fixed at Tk 500.
Deputy Commissioner of Jamalpur Md Shafiur Rahman inaugurated the bus service cutting the ribbon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Shitesh Chandra Ray, Chief Executive of the district administration Munmun Jahan Liza, Bus Owners Association president Rafikul Islam Jarnis, District Sacheton Nagorik Committee president Shamima Khan, Sammilito Samajik Andolon District Committee journalist Jahangir Selim, Jamalpur District Press Club president advocate Yusuf Ali, Former president MA Jolil, BRTC Officer Kamruzzaman and others were present there.
It was known that BRTC bus service was inaugurated earlier in 2019 in response of the demand of the people of the district. However, that service was halted due to the syndicate of the bus owners. There is no good quality private bus service in this route. So, the people of the district were suffering in transportation sector. This bus service will minimize the sufferings. However, the quality of passenger service needs to be maintained.
