Bangladesh vaccine certification will be recognised by British authorities, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen informed journalists on Friday.

“Our Mission contacted them and described our processes and now they recognise our vaccine certification, which will be effective from 4am Monday, 11 October,” he said, describing this as ‘good news’ for Bangladeshis.

Earlier, Bangladesh was removed from the UK government's travel red list, which came into effect at 4am on 22 September.

High Commissioner for Bangladesh to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem said: “The constant and effective diplomatic efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka along with Bangladesh High Commission in London led to this positive outcome."

She then said the future reviews of Britain's travel system on 4 October would include Bangladesh on the green list.
